ASPPI Invited to Technical Committee 56 on PPE Standards

 The Association of Safety Practitioners of the Philippines, Inc. through its incumbent President, Engr. Nomer Reynaldo was invited to be one of the members by the Bureau of Philippine Standards (BPS) to review and recommend the national standards to be adopted by the government for Personal Protective Equipment.  BPS is a bureau under the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI), which initiated the formation of Technical Committee No. 56 that included the DOLE’s Bureau of Working Condition, Occupational Safety & Health Center, Construction Manpower Development Foundation. Philippine Constructors Association and representatives from the private sector and other professional organizations.  The members of TC56 started meeting last March 7, 2015 in CMDF and meets every month in the OSHC for the technical consultations and discussionson internationally accepted PPE standards such as ISO, ANSI and many others.  With the ASEAN 2015 Agenda opening the doors for Filipino products,DTI envisions the competitiveness of locally manufactured PPE in the regional ASEAN market.
